The Mahindra Roxor: A Rustic Off-Road Vehicle Inspired by the Jeep CJ-2A

The Mahindra Roxor is an off-road vehicle manufactured by Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA), a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing corporation. The Roxor is designed for recreational off-roading and is inspired by the classic Willys Jeep CJ-2A.

The Mahindra Roxor features a rugged design reminiscent of the Jeep CJ series, with a boxy body, round headlights, and a vertical front grille. It has a steel body mounted on a steel frame, providing durability for off-road adventures. The Roxor has a compact size, making it suitable for navigating challenging terrain and tight trails.

Under the hood, the Roxor is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine, delivering ample torque for off-road capabilities. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, providing control and versatility during off-road maneuvers. The Roxor is available in both two-seater and four-seater configurations.

The Mahindra Roxor is built for serious off-road performance. It features solid front and rear axles, leaf-spring suspension, and an impressive ground clearance to tackle rough terrains. It also offers 4x4 drivetrain with a two-speed transfer case for superior traction and crawling abilities.

It's important to note that the availability and specifications of Mahindra Roxor may vary based on different regions and updates from the manufacturer. It's always recommended to refer to the official Mahindra website or contact a local dealer for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the Mahindra Roxor.

Mahindra Roxor faced legal challenges in the United States that impacted its sales and distribution. In 2018, Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) introduced the Roxor to the U.S. market as an off-road vehicle.

However, in 2019, the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) launched an investigation into the Roxor following a complaint filed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) alleging trade dress infringement.

The USITC found that the Roxor infringed upon the trade dress rights of FCA's Jeep brand, particularly with its similarities to the Jeep Wrangler. The USITC issued a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist order, preventing Mahindra from importing the Roxor's design components into the United States.

This legal dispute affected the availability and sales of the Roxor in the U.S. market. It's possible that there have been developments or changes since my knowledge cutoff date, and I recommend checking with the official Mahindra Automotive North America website or contacting a local dealer for the most up-to-date information on the status of the Mahindra Roxor in the United States.
